Why Chess?
Chess is a unique game that it is simultaneously simple and complex. It is simple in that it’s a universal game that knows no barriers—it can be played by people of any race, gender, religion, language, or socioeconomic background. It is complex in that it fosters critical thinking, which enhances some of the most valuable life skills you can acquire: reasoning, concentration, strategizing, patience, sportsmanship, and foresight, to name a few.
